Resin

Inspired by dadaistic ideas Ekman played with timing and tried to not make sense of anything in the piece. Often in Ekmans work there is a strong concept but in this piece the concept exactly the opposite; a piece about nothing.
The dancers set up a series of bizarre situations like dancing with salmons, puking on stage, dancing ballet and a five minute mini version of Swan Lake, presenting an entertaining yet bizarre world.

Resin was created for the National Ballet of Norway in 2012 and toured through Norway in the fall of 2012.
